This article on Bari Weiss' Substack feed by Peter Boghossian is worth reading, because it directly applies to both Christian witness and to the poisonous effects this kind of teaching has on young people. Neither Boghossian or Weiss are Christians; in fact, they are denizens of what we used to call the "academic left" in this country. Yet Boghossian's experiences at Portland State are being mirrored at colleges and seminaries across the country right now -- this cancer is rotting out the entire educational edifice in this country (and it's spreading overseas as well). Remember well that these intolerant rainbow-haired Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) are only a few years away from running major corporaitons and inhabiting public office at all levels. Our "woke" businesses and politicians will not be able to hold a candle to the monsters that are coming along behind them -- hardcore leftist ideologues who know nothing but the lies that have been carefully poured into their brains over the years. If you're curious as to what the future holds, you should read a good book on the Chinese Cultural Revolution because we're about to repeat that nightmare here. These authoritarian socialists are absolute enemies of the Christian faith, and you are going to see attacks legal, rhetorical, and physical ramp up in the coming years. Prepare yourself and your Christian brothers and sisters for it. Christians are going to be hounded out of their jobs, off the internet, and out of any sort of public life. The already-corrupt legal system will offer little (if any) protection. Fallen churches will do their part to give cover to this persecution -- they do Satan's bidding in this, because Satan wants Christians to feel abandoned, isolated, and frightened. The warning is stark: be ready, because the storm is almost ready to break.
What is the basis for the assertion that our legal system is “corrupt”? That is certainly news to me. And who exactly are these “fallen churches” allegedly “doing Satan’s bidding”, pray tell?
ACNA Abp. Foley Beach touched on CRT during his June address to the provincial council: Theories can be helpful. The one getting the most attention in the media, Critical Race Theory, has some things which are helpful, but it is also full of anti-biblical and anti-Christian rhetoric and assumptions. We know that the Bible teaches us that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). All races have sinned. Every person in every race has sinned. The Bible also teaches that adultery is a sin (Ex.20:14), but just because this is a sin and some people commit it, it doesn’t mean everyone is an adulterer. Racism is a sin, but this doesn’t mean that all people of certain races are racists and all institutions of certain countries are racist, as Critical Race Theory proclaims. I grew up in an era where to view someone through the color of their skin and base my actions toward someone because of the color of their skin (or their race) was wrong. The Bible teaches this. If you remember, the Apostle Peter was confronted by God with his racism in Acts 10. Once convicted, he said, in Acts 10:34, “Truly, I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation (race) anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.” The modern-day leader, preacher, and hero of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., said it this way: “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character.” Secular theories leave God out of the equation and only in Christ will true racism be eliminated. This is not a new problem, even for the Church. The Apostle Paul addresses the racial tensions between Jews and Gentiles in Ephesians 2:14: “For he himself is our peace, who made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.” Bishop Ray Sutton, who is also the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church, one of our Sub-jurisdictions, gave some good, robust, biblical and theological meat in his address to his General Council regarding this very thing. It is well worth reading.
