    Indeed, it is proper to worship God alone. I would note that when the Eastern Orthodox venerate an image by the way, they are not worshipping it contra article 22, but venerating it and glorifying God; on each icon there is either a depiction of our Lord or of the Gospel, in each case signifying the Logos, and when Eastern Orthodox kiss an icon, that is what they kiss. The Oriental Orthodox venerate the Gospel book but not individual icons, nor have I seen this among the Assyrians.
