    Hello All,

    I just discovered/joined this forum today. I plan to mostly lurk for a time but I wanted to post something to establish that I exist lol.

    I am a 43-year-old Canadian man who has felt called toward Christ since late 2013 but I've resisted until recent months. After some research on my part (an on-again-off-again process that played out over months), I landed on the Anglican Church and I attended my first service only two weeks ago. My second ever service was yesterday.

    To be clear, these were my first church services ever. Not just my first Anglican services. I'd never attended a church service before last week.

    So I have a lot to learn, and I already have a list of questions that will likely take me years to get out. Better late than never, I hope!

    Other than my 9-year old daughter, and a girlfriend who may be slowly coming around, I don't have any Christians in my established social circle. So I've been taking on a lot of this stuff on my own. It's been worth it so far, but unfamiliar and strange in places. A mentor would be nice. I guess I'm hoping this place can fill some of that role.

    Welcome indeed, and a wise choice you have made not to resist the call to the Higher Way. I hope you enjoy your membeship here and by all means ask questions. Challenging ones! You may find that we are not all in agreement with each other on the answers but such is life in the Anglican Church. We journey together in faith and argue together to learn.

    We're glad you are here, TwoBit. For some reason the lyrics to this song came to my mind...

    ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to take Him at His Word;
    Just to rest upon His promise,
    And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”
    • Refrain:
      Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
      How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
      Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
      Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
    I'm so glad you've decided to trust in Jesus! Have you thought about sitting down with your new pastor and getting to know each other a bit? He can be a valuable resource, and I'm sure he would have some ideas about things to read and do.
