Tutu's daughter leaves Anglican Church after marrying a woman Monday 23 May 2016 05:52 SABC Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu's daughter has confirmed she has quit preaching in the Anglican Church after marrying a woman. Reverend Mpho Tutu-Van Furth says her licence to preach is being revoked. She and her partner, Marceline van Furth, are on honeymoon in Bali after tying the knot at Franschhoek in the Boland. Tutu-Van Furth says she has decided to surrender her ministerial duties because the South African Anglican Church does not recognise same-sex marriages. She had been stationed at Saldanha Bay on the Cape West Coast. The couple has four adopted children. Debate over same-sex marriage has divided the Anglican Church around the world. I pray that God will lead her heart to repentance and will use her story to his glory. The good shepherd will seek out his lost sheep and will not stop until he finds.
I'm glad she did not try to challenge the revoked licence. A local Methodist female minister took her church to court for discrimination (needless to say that she lost the case).
