As I have grown in my faith and as I have expanded the horizon of my theological study, I'm growing more receptive to the Anglican tradition. At first, it started with a general curiosity, as many scholars that I was studying, a large majority of them actually, belonged to the Anglican denomination. I found it interesting that those that spent considerable time studying Scriptures academically found themselves at home in the Anglican church. Since then, I have grown in my appreciation of what I believe are related to Anglicanism, at least at their crosssection (obviously other traditions can maintain one or more of these things, but Anglicanism seems to capture all four.) Authoritative view of Scripture Higher valuation and use of early church fathers, though not taking them as authoritative Greater emphasis on the Eucharist and openness to a real presence view Broader ecumenicism There is still much to be studied, especially with regard to Anglicanism as I am sure that term can be slippery and not as uniform as I may like. My hope is that this forum will be a platform where I can test, explore, investigate, and study the tradition more deeply. Thank you for welcoming me.
