Archbishop of Canterbury Swipes at Islam

KENT (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Archbishop of Canterbury is saying Westerns need to stop saying ISIS has nothing to do with Islam.

Justin Welby from the Church of England made the comments when receiving an honorary doctorate from Catholic Institute of Paris earlier this November. Welby said, "Until religious leaders stand up and take responsibility for the actions of those who do things in the name of their religion, we will see no resolution."

Welby is speaking in the same vein as Cdl. Raymond Burke, former head of the Vatican's highest court, who said in an interview in October, "It is clear that Muslims have as an ultimate goal conquest and power over the world. Islam, through the sharia, their law, will rule the world and allow violence against the infidels, like the Christians."

The recent comments from Welby may be inspired by his recent meeting with marginalized and suffering Christian victims of terror attacks in Pakistan, despite travel warnings by the British High Commission and Foreign Ministry.

A new report released by the Institute for Economics and Peace reveals that "ISIS surpassed Boko Haram as the deadliest terrorist group in 2015. ISIL undertook attacks in 252 different cities in 2015 and was responsible for 6,141 deaths in the year [2015]."

Christian wishes to avoid causing offence become sinful if one fails to confront evil
