I lived overseas and was doing some work for my job. It was in the evening there, and my wife came in to tell me that an airplane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers. I was sure she tuned in late to some hyper-realistic disaster drama, until I watched for a couple of minutes and realized it was actually happening. I was hoping for some explanation of why it happened. Just then, the second tower was hit and I realized it was a terrorist attack. Then there was the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania, and I spent the next several hours worrying that there would be more.

I've been back in the US for many years, but will never know what the atmosphere was like here on that morning and in the days afterward. I did attend a beautiful ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the attack. I'd rather reflect on that ceremony than on the morning itself, so I'll stop here.

    Whom do we serve?
Philippians 4:8–9: whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do…….or alternatively you could meditative on conspiracy theories, but what will that do for you.

    First post from me.
