The service at St. John’s Episcopal Church for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence and their families began at 8:30 am this morning.

The service started with an organ performance of Fanfare for the Common Man and continued to a choral prelude with three selections from Sing Out, Mr. President (2012).

It was followed by John Adams’ prayer, “I pray to heaven to bestow the best blessings on this house and all that shall inhabit it. May none but the wise men ever rule under this roof.”

We begin this historic and humbling day as we do every day, with a moment of reflection and prayer. #InaugurationDay

I thought Trump was Presbyterian? Anyway, it's reassuring that the day's first activity was an act of worship, reminding those present that God is greater than any of them
