Not so much. I was a 4 year old lad. How long was it? I've lost track of the number of purported sections of it I've seen on display at military themed museums in the US.

November of '89. That was in my junior year of high school. I remember all of that crazy world changing news very well. Graduated high school in '91, so the fall of the Berlin wall, the coup against Gorbachev, the dissolving of the iron curtain, the end of the Soviet Union, all of it, came at a very memorable time in my life.

It was the start of a decade of "peace dividends" (what a phrase, looking back) and the world just seeming so much brighter before 9/11/2001. One thing I do remember was Ukraine breaking away, and as part of that, giving up their nukes in exchange for a gurantee of safety from the west. Yeah, that worked out...
