I have just took delivery of The Monastic Diurnal according to the Holy Rule of Saint Benedict with additional rubrics and devotions for its recitation in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer (London: Oxford University Press, 1932). I was wondering, indeed am hoping, that someone can sign post me to a resource that will help me with it, whether that be another book or some online resource.

I simply do not understand the Rubrics. They may be in English and I do understand each individual word; however, things like ‘Doubles I Class’ are something I know nothing about. I am sure that at some point a manual was written to help Anglicans through these liturgies. May be someone has devoted a Web site or blog to it.

Any help or ideas would be most gratefully appreciated.
