    Hello folks,

The main site (www.anglican.net) is being worked on, and there is an idea of adding the full text of Nowell's Catechism in a section of its own.

It was the only Catechism (other than the short one in the BCP) approved by the Church of England, in the Canons of 1571.
    Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea... does anyone know where I can get a copy in pdf format?

While never officially adopted, Nowell's Catechism enjoyed a semi-official status in the Elizabethan church.

Hello friend, we have been working part time on putting up the Middle Catechism as the most accessible of the three, from the original text of the 1500s. The work has stalled for lack of available hands.

Let me know if I can assist, although if it consists of translating Latin I must confess I am not your man.

Would you like to be one of the transcribers, and gain access to the Transcribers forum? We can provide the original of the 1570s text.

If there is any other transcription work to be done, I'd be glad to help out again. Unless, of course, you absolutely hated the 42 Articles but if so that's okay

The Nowell Catechism is actually quite lengthy. Even the Middle Catechism. :)
Having multiple people transcribe it will ensure that it actually sees the light of day, as we have several projects that had been started by previous volunteers but not brought to completion.

I will gladly help out with the Catechism in my free time. I'm in college, which is great, but I wouldn't mind having something to work on beside schoolwork to do in my free time (I actually quite enjoy transcribing work!).
