    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone could identify the saints on either side of this icon? It's only small and their names are in Cyrillic script but I can't read them as it's blurred and such.

    Thank you.

Do you own the icon or have you seen it online somewhere? If the latter does it not say who they are wherever you saw them?

At a guess I would say the central image is the Annunciation. I can't think of any saints who'd be particularly linked to that event.

I'm wondering if they may by Ss Cyril and Methodius, who evangelised the Slavs. As you know the Cyrillic script is named after S Cyril who was instrumental in developing it.

I suspect I'm wrong. I've just done a Goole Images search of the two saints I mention above and one seems to be always show in monastic habit and the other as a bishop.

It's a small icon I bought for my bf but the seller doesn't name the saints. I got the one on the left is St. Nicholas and the centre is of course the Annunciation, but I can't figure the guy with the scroll.

Well I was obviously completely wrong!:(

Can you read the script? I can't because it doesn't show up well on the image. If you can then you could use Google Translate to find out the saint's name.

I've been trying. That's how I figured the St Nick one. The other one is really evading me though.

Wish I could offer more help. Unfortunately, my knowledge of Eastern Christianity is very limited. I can't even figure why St Nick is there with the Annunciation. Nor do I know who he may be frequently partnered with in icons.

Yes, I recognise the middle icon as depicting the Virgin Mary and the Angel Gabriel announcing to her that she will be the child Jesus. Mary shows humility at the time of the annunciation when she says “YES!” to God to be the mother of God.
