These are quite old-fashioned terms and are generally not considered as relevant today. I have known tub-thumping fundamentalists who are happy with six candles and smoke, and quiet Catholics with a stole and a simple spoken liturgy. Whilst theology and churchmanship have some correlation it is by no means a reliable or absolute guide. 190 years ago it probably made more sense. If you give me a choice between whatever form of churchmanship, it is not such a worry. Does the priest love God and the people in their care, say their prayers and visit those who are sick or isolated? That is where I want to belong. The authenticity of faith hope and love is what matters more.
