Hello all! I'm looking for some nice Anglican books to help me grow spiritually. I'm thinking about John Owen's "Indwelling Sin in Believers" and "Spiritual Mindedness". Maybe St. Augustine's prayer book as well. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd take anything other than Joel Osteen, that guy's plain weird.
I would certainly recommend Anglican spirituality as the one with the chefs d'oeuvre of the spiritual life. Many of the works are hard to access, but we've gone through the effort to bring online Henry Scougal's Life of God in the Soul of Man as one of the best works of Christian spiritual literature, and you might benefit greatly therefrom. http://www.anglican.net/works/henry-scougal-the-life-of-god-in-the-soul-of-man-1677/
Communion with the Triune God is good - Owen Christian in Complete Armour - Gurnall Practical Works - Baxter Sanctification by Pink Gleanings from Paul - Pink The Hidden Life of Prayer - McIntyre I just picked this one up but it's stellar!
