    Per the suggestion of Incense and other non-Anglican Christians who aren't familiar with all the terms we use...

    Let's create a list of the most common acronyms and abbreviations used by Anglicans. Maybe the ADMIN can create a sticky thread some day for newcomers, if we work hard enough!

    Here's an initial list arranged alphabetically. PLEASE SUGGEST ADDITIONS.

    ~

    ABC - Archbishop of Canterbury, the primate of the Anglican Communion & center of unity

    ACA - Anglican Church in America

    ACC - Anglican Consultative Council, an quasi-governing body of the Communion, or:

    ACC - Anglican Catholic Church

    ACoC - Anglican Church of Canada

    ACNA - Anglican Church in North America, offshoot of TEC, not in Communion with ABC

    AMiA - Anglican Mission in America

    APA - Anglican Province of America

    APCK - Anglican Province of Christ the King

    AV - Authorized Version, another name for the KJV

    BCP - Book of Common Prayer, our book of services, petitions & thanksgivings to almighty God

    CANA - Convocation of Anglicans in North America

    C. of E. - Church of England

    ECUSA - Episcopal Church of the United States of America - see: TEC

    EP - Evening Prayer, or Evensong

    HC - Holy Communion

    HE - Holy Eucharist

    KJV - King James Version, an Anglican translation of the Bible

    MP - Morning Prayer, or Mattins

    PECUSA - Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America, older name for TEC

    REC - Reformed Episcopal Church, offshoot of TEC, not in Communion with ABC

    RSV - Revised Standard Version, a modern translation of the Bible

    S&B - Smells & Bells, a reference to the incense and sanctus bells used in Anglo-Catholic worship

    TAC - Traditional Anglican Communion

    TEC - The Episcopal Church (of the United States of America)

    WO - Womens' Ordination, or Ordination of Women to the clergy

    I guess the BCP is book of common prayer? (yes me can be smart sometimes :p)

    APA- Anglican Province of America
    TAC- Traditional Anglican Communion
    AMiA- Anglican Mission in America
    APCK- Anglican Province of Christ the King

    Variations of TEC... PECUSA (Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America), or just ECUSA. Also there's the DFMS (Domestic and Foreign Mission Society).

    How can that be differentiated from the Anglican Church of Canada & the Anglican Consultative Council?

    We'll need definitions next to each of these! It'll become a whole dictionary before long! :p

    You forgot (ANiC) Anglican Network in Canada which is in communion with ABC through the Southern Cone Primate Hector Tito Zavala. Also BAS (Book of Alternative Services) and ER (English Ritual)
