There is more to the story than the op indicates. Indeed the news article presents more questions than answers, and I would think that none of us is in a position to make an informed judgement on the basis of what has been presented. Neither the RCC nor the Anglican Church would be confused about the distinction between the Blessed Sacrament and Cookies (or Biscuits as the English and Australians would describe them). The pastoral issues around the woman, the relationship to to community of faith, and the understanding of what was going on here are all great unknowns. The RCC in the main operates a closed policy on communion, whilst many Anglican Jurisdiction speak of the open table, where all the baptised are welcome.

The woman either has grave mental issues or is an agent of evil forces. Good for the priest for protecting the blessed Body and Blood of our Lord.

I just read an updated article on the incident. It is certainly a strange course of events. I'm not sure I would have ever thought to bite someone in a similar situation (I'm not saying I wouldn't have used force but biting seems like the least preferable option). Good for the priest for protecting the blessed sacrament. I hope the charges are dropped for the priest and that the woman gets the help she needs.
