I was a lurker of this forum for the past 3 years and I love the discussion here. Though I am not Anglican, I am delighted to see good people from other Christian Tradition.

You may want to ask me some questions specific to Christianity in the Philippines.
    Cheers!

Is it all roman catholicism in the Philippines, still, or are several christian traditions represented?

Super Majority is still RC. My estimate would be around 80%.
Second is Islam (mostly in Mindanao).
Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) may also be second. This is a non-trinitarian locally developed strand of Christianity if it is qualified to be called.
Many "born-again" Christians, as they are called here, sprouting. Manny Pacquiao few years back have established one. He was Roman.
The Spiritual Adviser of the President is not RC but is called "The Appointed Son of God" strand. :)
There is this Philippine Independent Church, in full communion with Anglican Communion.

"Po", is used to make a formal sentence. But we don't used that in our area/region. hehehe.
This is a Tagalog word. :)

Yes, Tagalog. Your area doesn't speak Tagalog, or they don't use the word? When I visited the Philippines in 1998 (helping a native person conduct a teaching conference for pastors) I was told the word is a sign of respect, sort of like saying "sir" in English. That and how to say "good morning," "good afternoon," and "good evening" in Tagalog are about all I remember any more.

So, whereabouts are you in that nation? (Hopefully far from the traffic congestion of Manila!)

Yes, as a sign of respect. Mostly used by younger person speaking to older person. But nowadays, this is not fully practice.
Tagalog (Filipino as officially called), is our national language. Most of us can speak and understand this dialect.
I am in Visayas Region (Cebu to be specific) and we used Cebuano (Visayan dialect). Far from the traffic of Manila but catching up. LOL.
We had a typhoon last month. A strong one. Damaged my house.

Oh! How unfortunate! Was it the wind, or did the house get flooded?

So many islands, and I only saw parts of one. I always hoped to get back there and spend more time, but now I doubt I'll do any traveling outside the US the way things have gotten.

Are you retired, or working on Cebu?

Roof shingles were gone. Water leaks after that. But temporarily fixed. Wind was strong enough to bring a big cargo ship near the beach. About 500 meter from my house. No electricity, internet, mobile signal, and water for about 3 weeks. Long lines on cash machines and gas. Business transactions were all cash basis due to no network. It was tough, but our prayers and faith to HIM is stronger.

Yeah COVID, it made a new way of living all over.

I'm still working, Software Development. Still in my 40's.

I believe so. Don't here from them often. Internet is very patchy so emails, although the way we communicate by them, are very few and far between.

Welcome. I spent a short-time in the PI, jungle-training, prior to my time in Vietnam and its surrounding areas. Five-decades ago.
