Call the Midwife is available to watch on PBS in the USA. 27 Apr 2021, PBS America.

Series 10 showing now in the UK. 10 years of astonishing drama about An Anglican Order of Nuns who provide midwifery to a very poor district of London in the 50's and 60's.

Wonderful plots, accurate props and scenes, great 60's music, astonishing birth sequences using amazingly lifelike 'babies'. Lots of very difficult and sensitive issues covered, such as race hatred, thalidomide, illegal abortions, poverty etc. in a 1960's context. Pure nostalgia binge for us geriatric over 70's.

Watch a few and you will get hooked.

Sounds like something my wife would definitely watch all 10 seasons of, if we had it on our local PBS station. Sadly they don't carry it. We could watch it on Roku for $60, I think, but that's not likely to happen. Maybe sometime in the future the local station will carry it.

a search on pbsamerica.co.uk didn't turn up anything, either.

I think the lack of a semaphore indicator on the morrie minor didn't gel with the story time line.
But I forgive them, I'm a forgiving person.... Things might be rubbing off you lot:D

I don't watch the program much but my wife loves it.

17 May 1956: New rules for "winkers" The Minister of Transport confirmed his approval of flashing direction indicators on cars. Morris Minor possibly first production car to have them as standard. My Morie Station wagon had flashers, 1965.

Gosh, I would have thought PBS America would have had national coverage. Are you living beyond the Styx?

Yeah they changed in 1961. For station wagon should I read traveller?
I'm not sure about the flashers but it was the first to have the mudguards moulded into the doors as well.

Sounds like we would get on like a house on fire. If you come to NZ call in.

So does mine, and I used to like it. However, when my wife watches it on the channels that do nothing but repeat programmes I grow tired of it. She gets rather annoyed when I tell her what is going to happen. I am certain I could do some episodes word for word!

Thankfully, I haven't seen a repetition yet. Though of the shows she enjoys, I can at least follow along and enjoy this one, even if it's utterly heart-wrenching sometimes.

Tiffy said PBS airs it, but it might vary based on where in the States you live. Netflix has the first 9 seasons if you can't get it on the air.
