Just joined. I believe this site will help me get my bearings. I’ve been several years “traveling” between Geneva, Wittenberg, Canterbury and Constantinople.

I’m actually a member of a Presbyterian church (PCA), but I’m ‘Anglican’ in many ways. I love the church fathers. I like liturgy. I’m orthodox, but probably more eclectic than my fellow Presbyterians. I’ve been keeping Morning Prayer (2019 BCP) since attending an ACNA church this past Ash Wednesday.

What are your thoughts on “Federal Vision”, a movement of Presbyterians that supports baptismal regeneration, liturgical observance and other Anglican-looking doctrines?

It’s my understanding that FV is post-millennial. I am not, though I’d like that to be true. I do believe in baptismal regeneration, but my nuanced view may not square with FV.

Ah I see, didn’t know they were postmillenial... Still it was a valiant effort to do what they did in the Presbyterian context

From what I know they aren’t as popular as maybe 20 years ago, because the majority of people ended up choosing in favor of the modern doctrines at the expense of the ancient doctrines

I’m all about the ancient doctrines / traditions, which is why I’m drawn to Anglicanism.

Welcome. That's fine as long as you continue to be a Christian and not just a Churchian. :)

Wonderful to hear that our new prayer book is already being a blessing beyond our church's "boundaries"! Welcome to the forum.

 Anything that is done in faith and in the love of God, is orthopraxic. Everything not, is not.
