Hello, I would like to know if there is any Anglican parish (High Church) celebrating gay marriage in the sarum rite. Thank you.
Single gender marriage is outside the understanding of the Book of Common Prayer, and the historic tradition of the Church from Apostolic times. Anglican Churches within the Communion who have made steps in the direction of single gender marriage include, The Episcopal Church (usa), The Episcopal Church of Scotland, The Episcopal Church of Brazil, and I think Canada, who have passed canons that provide for a change in the understanding of the sacrament, from being between a man and a woman, to being between two persons. Churches who embrace the Sarum Rite as such are less likely to have moved in this direction, as the rite in inherently conservative by its very nature, and those who embrace single gender marriage are most likely progressive (or heterodox, depending on your view on the matter.
