Bishop: Mass migration part of plan to water down Europe’s Christian identity

MILAN, Italy, July 2, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — A Catholic bishop has stated that the mass migration from Africa and Asia into Europe in recent years is part of a plan to change the Christian identity of Europe.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan, 57, told an interviewer from Milan’s Il Giornale last week that “the phenomenon of so-called “immigration” represents an orchestrated and long-prepared plan by international powers to radically change the Christian and national identities of the European peoples.”

The Church, he said, was being exploited.

“These powers use the Church's enormous moral potential and her structures to more effectively achieve their anti-Christian and anti-European goal,” he stated.

“To this end they are abusing the true concept of humanism and even the Christian commandment of charity. "

Asked to comment on Italy’s new and very outspokenly Euro-skeptic Minister of the Interior, Matteo Salvini, the bishop said that he did not know Italy’s political situation well, but that he applauded any European government’s attempt to emphasize their nation’s sovereignty and “historical, cultural, and Christian identity” against “a kind of new Soviet Union” with “an unmistakably Masonic ideology”: the European Union.

I just don't understand where this mass migration is coming from, and why the liberals are so zealous about it

    :dunno:

Some have postulated that there's an Islamist plan to infiltrate the west and dilute western culture

That sounds like a conspiracy theory, surely they cannot be as evil as that?

The infernal worldviews of the liberals demonstrate more clearly the reality of the Devil and of Hell than the must careful demonstrations out of philosophy and theology. One no longer has to wonder whether this world is run by the Devil and his Minions; you just have to open the news and see bearded ladies, men marrying each other, boys being made into girls, bishops mocking Christ; the church advocating socialist atheism, and pushing hard not for the salvation of souls, but for the destruction of Western Civilization (the noblest monument in the history of man).

I don't really agree with this because there are many immigrants who are a part of this "mass migration" who come from Christian backgrounds. Whether it's Arab Christians that are refugees fleeing persecution in the Middle East, or the fact that many immigrants from African countries are coming from a Christian background.

Also, I think the Biblical imperative of "helping the stranger and outsider" compels all of us whether they are Christian or not.

The mass numbers of people going into Europe are not fleeing from religious persecution; they are economically motivated based on the EU's open borders and generous welfare system. Yes, there are people who are fleeing war torn areas in Syria and Africa, but the majority motivation is not religious persecution.

Additionally, helping doesn't equate bringing in mass movements of populations in your country. Helping can mean setting up refugee camps and providing economic aid to help rebuild their communities. Helping does not have to equate open migration. The media has equaled Christian charity with supporting mass migration. There is no reason why someone from Syria must migrate to Sweden for assistance, for instance. There are closer countries which can assist them if they need help. It is not incumbent on Europe to accept every person who comes to her shore seeking asylum.

Except there are doctrines in Islam that encourage conquest via migration- Hijra, and teach lying to nonbelievers -Taqiya. If these doctrines were a fiction, then I would be inclined to agree.
