How far back? What date did each of the nations you mentioned, come into existence?
How far back can you trace your ancestors?
Is a 'country' a nation?
Is nationality the same as ethnicity?
Are your ancestors your mother OR your father and theirs OR your mother OR your Father and theirs, and so on ad infinitum back to Adam and Eve?

 

Perhaps the answer there is not as easy as you may think.

Presumably you are meaning back to 1601, but Germany as a country did not exist then.

My surname is French. My mother's maiden name was German. I look most like the Scandinavian branch of the family.

 

My paternal side of the family immigrated here in the early 1900's from, then, Austro-Hungary. It was later Czechoslovakia and now is Slovakia, near the border of the Ukraine.

My maternal side of the family immigrated here in the early 1800s from Norway.

My wife immigrated here in 1974 from the Isaan of Thailand.

I'm Australian but my ancestry Irish diaspora and Irish Traveller.

 

All eight of my great-grandparents were born outside of the United States and immigrated with their families as children or teenagers except for my maternal grandmother's parents who lived in Wales their entire lives.

My maternal grandmother's mother and father were both born in Wales. My maternal grandfather's mother was born in Ireland and his father was born in Scotland. My paternal grandmother's mother was born in Germany and her father was born in England. My paternal grandfather's mother was born in Scotland and his father was born in Belgium. Once you go back another generation it becomes even more varied.
