I think this forum could be a place for a reasoble discussion. I tried to introduce the topic earlier, however there were not many interested.

There are many challenges, and the question will be where do you want to start, as that will have great bearing on where you end up.

I saw the movie GOLDA the other day. The grat line for mw was when Kissenger says 'let me put my cards on the table, I am an American, I am the Secretary of State, and I am a Jew.' Golda quietly replies, 'In Hebrew we read right to left.'

Perhaps the first question we need to ask is if we believe that the contemporary secular democracy of Israel is the intended Israel of God, or it is a creation of the United Nations.

Israel is a member state of the United Nations General Assembly, and Palestine may be also shortly.

Whilst Palestine has not been a member state, Israel has had the luxury of not recognising sovereignty. (Given what is happening in Ukraine where Russia has dismissed the Sovereignty of Ukraine it may not make much difference.)

We read different news sources. I am aware of the Eurovision Song Contest, and the attempts to politicise this event following the difference in the treatment of Israel to Russia, and the reasons for that in part probably come down to money.

In the news sources I read Israel is in the news
    • Unsurprisingly for being opposed to the proposed membership of Palestine in the UN.
    • For continuing its assault on Gazza and Raffa in particular
    • The closure of the last hospital in Raffa
As a matter of historical interest the Gaza Strip, whilst not identical is close enough to the ancient region of Philistia, though this time the giant may be Israel.

Ok I take the point, however I had to waste time researching what you were saying, and I don;t think that is an effective approach to the forum.

Whilst ultimately there may be no winners, there are thousands who have lost lives, homes, income, habitat, family, and security, and for them this is quite serious.

Sorry, my mistake, you were entirely off-topic and I wasted 2 hours thinking you were being relevant and deep, but alas not.

    Yes, it was.

For those who struggle to understand what is being said
    • Esc = Eurovision Song Contest
    • was = was
    • israel = Israel
When Russia was excluded from the Eurovision Song Contest (due to the invasion of Ukraine) the costs that Russia would have met in staging the event had to be shared by the remaining participants. Had Israel also been excluded this would have been a further impost, and the likely result was that several others would also have withdrawn not for any matter of principle, but for the matter of the costs. The inclusion of Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest is a Public Relations win for Israel as it is seen as support of their position. The United Nations General Assembly vote on Palestine is seen as a Public Relations loss for Israel. However, the prospect of anything happening at the Security Council is negligible given that the United States has veto power there.

Whilst I do not doubt that many people were murdered, I am not sure based on the news reports I read that I could conclude that Shani Louk was or was not murdered. She was abducted, and taken hostage and she is dead and has been dead for some time.
