Just saw this come across my twitter… can’t believe how bad things have become in some parts of Christendom, and these people pretend being being orthodox

The EO quote shows that they ask Mary to save them. Do you think Mary has saving power?

The meme wasn't disrespecting Mary, it was showing how erroneous EO theology is in some ways.

None of those references are pertinent to the question posed.

James is the closest you get. Lets take a look:
Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
This is a great verse. And no doubt the prayers of the saints, full of faith that they are, are powerful and effective. But if I think Annie is more righteous than myself, and so I pray to her, will she hear my prayers around two thousand kilometres to my south and know to intercede on my behalf? Of course not, and I'm sure you would agree.

What then if Annie is so righteous she is like a saint? Will she hear it then? Of course not, and I'm sure you would agree.

What then if she dies, and as a saint is immediately taken into the Kingdom of Heaven before the judgement? Can she hear my prayers now? You would say yes - we are asking "why do you think that?".

Take a look outside of scripture too if you would like. Look to logic, the laws of nature, some scientific explanation - wherever we might find truth. What in scripture or out of it would give us confidence the saints in heaven can hear all of our prayers at all times in all places at once?

As an aside: Luke 15 contradicts you. God calls his friends and neighbours to him to rejoice that the sheep is found, which implies the friends and neighbours were not already aware the moment the sheep was found. I don't know what in that you think means the saints are omnipresent.

None of those say anything about people seeing earth from heaven.

Rev 6:9-10 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Notice that the martyred souls ask how long before their deaths are avenged. They are already in heaven because they were martyred, so they know what happened to themselves. This says absolutely nothing about them hearing prayers from living people on earth or interceding on behalf of the living. To the contrary, they are asking how long before the unrighteous living people are punished... quite the opposite of intercession. They don't even need to know "current events" on earth, they just know generally from experience that there are always plenty of evil people doing bad things to Christians.

People need to read the Bible for themselves and see what it teaches, instead of relying on false teachings of other human beings (people who might be pushing an agenda).

Can you cite the place please… and is this your best or only proof for the saints having superhuman godlike hearing/awareness?

I don't think anyone here is saying the saints are incapable of prayer. We're asking you why you think they can hear your prayers, and why you think they can hear two different people's prayers said at the same time at different places.

And in the case of Mary it's probably at least hundreds of prayers at any given moment from around the globe - and they just keep coming 24/7.

Any particular reason for adding an "s" at the end of Revelation?
