You could consider an Ordinariate Mass if you hold that view, best of both worlds. However, while I realise the view that the Anglican Church doesn't have a valid Eucharist is official Catholic teaching, it is a view with no logical basis behind it and I hope you will see this someday.
I enjoy the tight little online community here. And conversation ca be stimulating. Also I can agree with many of the conservative ideas posited
Thank you Peter but I'm above all a Roman Catholic and I appreciate the respect I receive as such from forum members
I hope I'm allowed to answer as a member of the RCC. I do admire Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the SSPX, for his courage to go through trouble for his faith. Another Catholic whom I admire is Father Hans Küng. I don't agree with all of his views, but I've found many good things in his books. And he was very brave, too, because he got into trouble with Rome for his theological views, especially for his rejection of papal infallibility.
My parish library has a lot of Hans Kung and I definitely plan to read some his work in the near future. He seems pretty interesting.
Well, she isn't famous, but my good friend and co-worker is an awesome Roman Catholic who helped bring me to Christ through her prayers and support!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Merton Hi Aidan, I think if you read this you will discover the inference of the remark, (I was wishing we had an LOL button for it). Merton was enormously significant for many, and certainly pushed the boundaries in many areas, he had a very big vision of God, which clearly at times stretched beyond the bounds of limited Christianity, and whilst many of those ideas may be plain sailing in many places these days, it it's own day it was very challenging and provocative. He is indeed much loved in many Anglican circles.
Edit: P. B. beat me to it Merton was a 'bad monk' in that he was still very much a man, a paradox in light of his spiritual attainments. I've always thought of him as a Christian analog of Ikkyu Sojun (if there's ever a 'Zen teacher you admire' thread).
