    Motions have begun to lead to the beatification of Fr Hamel. The Pope has called him blessed. Fr Jacques last words were "get thee behind me Satan", said to his assassins. Surely this priest is a century 21 Christian martyr?

    On the day after the death of Fr Jaques Hamel one of the priests in this diocese invited all to a requiem for him. Liturgical colour direction was RED. His martyrdom is a matter of fact. If at some time the institution catches up with it, well and good.
