Do you pray the Anglican Rosary?

Or it has been defiled. I mean you can pray on the beads, but you could do it in a heretical way. They are still prayer beads, but they are being used wrong. Am I making since? Or does it sound like I'm babbling?

 

Hi Andrea I think you missed my point. My point was once the beads are being used in a way that is not appropriate in my opinion they are no longer rosary beads they are simply an object.

Thought I add a resource here. http://www.solitariesofdekoven.org/store.html makes rosaries as well as pater noster cords. The rosaries aren't overpriced, and the money goes to support the Solitaries of Dekoven hermits. Also a pamphlet comes with the rosary explaining its layout, the symbols behind its pattern, how to use it, and a few good starter rosary prayers.

 

The rosaries there are also semi-customizable.

 

For me the chotki and the Jesus Prayer have been most helpful. There was a book that I really enjoyed called The Way of the Pilgrim. Its about a person that is on a spiritual and physical journey in an attempt to understand St Paul's words "to pray without ceasing" and how the Jesus prayer allows him to accomplish it.

 

I pray the Anglican rosary using the Apostles Creed, The Jesus Prayer, The Lord's Prayer, Glory Be, Fatima Prayer, and Anglican Hail Mary.......Hail Mary Full of Grace, The Lord is with you, Blessed are you among women, and Blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. Jesus Christ, Son of God, Son of Mary, Pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

 

Yes, this is also one of my spiritual practices.

Thank you for posting this, I am interested in what everyone has to say, I have only recently heard about the Anglican rosary a few months ago I would have said it was only a Catholic thing, but the idea does appeal to me greatly.

 

I use both the Roman and Anglican Rosaries.

 

If I could be convinced that the blessed Mary can hear my requests, I would certainly pray the Roman rosary.

 

She does indeed! Go for it.

 

I must say, my sister, that that's not very convincing.

 

The only way I know for you to be convinced would be to try it! I know the dear Lady has heard my prayers.

What a simple, humble, and childlike way of looking at it. I would've approached the matter by going over 1000 theological debates and points.

There's only one mediator between God and man: Jesus Christ.

Praying directly to the Blessed Virgin or any other saint is idolatry. It's a slippery slope: once you give in, you'll end up like the Romanists and the Easterners with their altars full of saints that can hear them, that become patrons of anything under the sun and intercede for them before God. It's paganism revamped and despite objections to the contrary, Christ does become an afterthought.

 

That is no where near the truth, but that kind of thing is to be expected
